I’m Andrea and my focus is on designing products that make people happy, either by making their lives easier in some way or simply making them smile.  I believe design should evoke an emotional response in those who come in contact with it, and produce an enjoyable experience for the user

A bit more about me

Born and raised in Vancouver Canada, art and creative expression have always nurtured my active imagination. I never considered these outlets, that gave me such pleasure and satisfaction, would actually evolve into my life career.  The world of design that I have diligently been studying for the past 6 years has revealed endless possibilities.

I received a diploma of Design from Langara College of Higher Learning where I was introduced to and became absolutely enamored with industrial design. I followed this fascination to Emily Carr University of Art and Design where I graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design. That’s been my formal education. Informally, learning about design is a lifelong pursuit.

Design allows me to explore all the radical and ‘out there’ ideas that float around in my head and then focus and refine them down to a useable and workable concepts that still capture the essence of those first blue sky ideas.

Though not long out of school, I have had the pleasure of interning at 3 amazing companies - Straight Line Designs and ANDlight in Vancouver and David Trubridge LTD based out of Hawkes Bay, New Zealand. These experiences have helped guide me creatively and have allowed me to gain profession experiences that I believe will be invaluable as I move forward in my career.
