Meet Moodi, a friendly little light who love helping people feel better.

Moodi is a therapy light that emits
a high intensity full spectrum light which helps people with Seasonal Affective Disorder and other forms of non-seasonal Depression manage their symptoms in a non invasive, non medicated way that the users have complete control over.

The goal for this project was to design a product that can create a conversation and help remove the stigma around conditions such as SADs and non-seasonal depression. At least for the user themselves.

Moodi was created to be a lifestyle product, not just a therapy product. The modern design helps to move away from the very medical look of products currently on the market. The concept for this product was to change the way people approach conditions such as Seasonal Affective Disorder and Depression and the devices that help them.

Light therapy devices become part of people’s daily routine, so why shouldn’t it look like it fits with their lifestyle?

How it Works

Moodi works by emitting 10,000 lux of full spectrum light that mimics spectrums found in natural sunlight. If used for 30 minutes in the morning, it will help to suppress the production of melatonin in the brain. Melatonin is a hormone that helps to put you to sleep. Using Moodi increases your serotonin production which is the hormone that makes you happy!

Moodi is not only a therapy light, it also has a LED setting.

A chrome 3 way switch allows for easy transition between the therapy lights and the LEDS. The left position is the therapy light, the middle position is off, and the right position is for the warm white LEDs. This feature makes it so Moodi is not a one trick pony, thus allowing it to be a more integrated part of the users daily life.
